ALAMEDA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
BOARD AGENDA ITEM

Item Title:Resolution No. 2014-2015.19 to Appoint and Approve the Measure A Oversight Committee for the 2014-15 Term at the Regularly Scheduled Board of Education Meeting on October 14, 2014
Item Type:Consent
Background:

On March 8, 2011, Alameda voters passed a replacement parcel tax ("Measure A"). This is one of AUSD's commitments to maintain accountability and transparency with all expenditures of Measure A dollars. A key component of that commitment is maintaining an 11-member Oversight Committee that is to annually review the District's compliance with the terms of Measure A.

Board policy provides that appointments to the Measure A Oversight Committee are made annually and approved by the Board of Education on or before September 30 of each school year. The Board was scheduled to approve appointments to the Measure A Oversight Committee for the 2014-15 term at its regular meeting on September 23, 2014.

Due to the transition in leadership, additional time is needed to do a thorough review of the applicants.

With this Resolution, the Board approves placing the appointment of the members to the Measure A Oversight Committee for the 2014-15 term on the agenda for approval at its  regularly scheduled meeting on October 14, 2014.
