Item Title:Board Member Referral for All Cell Phone Tower Antennae Contracts (5 Mins/Information)

Background:

Per the Board member referral on June 10, 2014 and the subsequent Board discussion and action at the June 24, 2014 board meeting, AUSD staff completed a review of the existing cell phone contracts currently in existence in AUSD.

Staff will present a summary of the four current contracts in AUSD:

1.    Cingular/AT&T at Maya Lin Elementary School

2.    AT&T at Wood Middle School

3.    Sprint/Nextel at Wood Middle School*

4.    T-Mobile at Alameda High School

The four contracts generate approximately $145,000 in annual revenue to AUSD.  With Sprint’s departure, the anticipated revenue is approximately $100,000.

*Sprint/Nextel submitted documents to remove the cell phone antennae at Wood Middle School and have subsequently removed the equipment in July 2014.
