Background:

If approved, this item would employ Sean McPhetridge, Ed.D., as the District’s Interim Superintendent for the period August 13, 2014 through June 30, 2015.

Dr. McPhetridge most recently served as the interim director of student programs and services at the Alameda County Office of Education. He served as AUSD's assistant superintendent from 2010 to 2013. During his 9-years with the AUSD, he also worked as the principal of the Alameda Science and Technology Institute (2005-2008); director of secondary and career technical education (also 2005-2008); and instructional vice principal at Alameda High School (2000-2003). He holds a Doctorate in Education from Harvard University.
