Background:

This item includes new course descriptions for AP Physics 1 and 2.  Advanced Placement (AP)/The College Board have converted the former AP Physics B into the two new courses AP Physics 1 and 2.  Syllabi for both courses have been submitted to Advanced Placement AP/The College Board and subsequently approved.  These documents are attached following each New Course Description.

AP Physics 1:
Prerequisite: Successful completion or concurrent enrollment in Algebra II
Elective/Required: Elective
Grade Level:  11-12
Subject Area: Science (Physics)
Length/Credits: One Year
Proposed by: Alameda High School

AP Physics 2:
Prerequisite: Successful completion or concurrent enrollment in Algebra II.  Completion of a prior introductory Physics course (Physics or AP Physics 1) is recommended but not required.
Elective/Required: Elective
Grade Level:  11-12
Subject Area: Science (Physics)
Length/Credits: One Year
