At the August 27th board meeting, District staff presented the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) for the installation of field lights on the Wood Middle School campus surrounding the Minor Baseball Field. The presentation of the IS/MND opened the window for public comment. Newspaper ads were placed in both the Alameda Sun and the Alameda Journal, with ads running August 28th and 29th respectively. Flyers indicating the project, resources and the timeline were mailed to 116 neighbors of Wood Middle School along the perimeter boundary, including posting notices at the large apartment complexes along Shoreline Drive. A notice was sent to County Clerk on August 29th, with confirmation of the notice posting on September 17th.
