Item Type:Consent
Background:

This Public Hearing and Board Resolution are a required routine annual review of textbook sufficiency in AUSD schools.   Beginning with the 99-00 fiscal year and each fiscal year thereafter, school districts must ensure that they have fully complied with the requirements of Education Code Section 60119. In order to be eligible to receive instructional materials funds from any state source, districts must conduct an annual public hearing to determine whether each pupil in the district has sufficient instructional materials that are aligned to the academic content standards and consistent with the cycles and content of the curriculum frameworks.  Students must be provided textbooks and instructional materials for use in the classroom and to take home in the following subjects:

·        Mathematics

·        Science

·        History-social science

·        English/language arts, including the English language development component of an adopted program

Resolution No. 2014-2015.23 certifies that the District has adhered to all laws and to all State Board of Education rules, regulations, and policies regarding the purchase of instructional materials.

Each principal has certified and confirmed that their students have all approved and required texts.
