This Public Hearing and Board Resolution
are a required routine annual review of textbook sufficiency in AUSD schools. Beginning with the 99-00 fiscal year and
each fiscal year thereafter, school districts must ensure that they have fully
complied with the requirements of Education Code Section 60119. In order to be
eligible to receive instructional materials funds from any state source, districts
must conduct an annual public hearing to determine whether each pupil in the
district has sufficient instructional materials that are aligned to the
academic content standards and consistent with the cycles and content of the
curriculum frameworks. Students must be
provided textbooks and instructional materials for use in the classroom and to
take home in the following subjects:

Mathematics
·
Science
·
History-social science
·
English/language arts, including
the English language development component of an adopted program
Resolution No. 2014-2015.23 certifies that
the District has adhered to all laws and to all State Board of Education rules,
regulations, and policies regarding the purchase of instructional materials.
Each principal has certified and confirmed that their students have all approved and required texts.
