Background:The District received a complaint claiming we are in violation of state law by not taking action to remove cellular telephone antennas from District schools. The District denied the complaint on the basis that the Board has directed staff to notify and send notices directing AT&T to stop operating the Maya Lin antenna within one year. The complainant appealed. Under the applicable Board policy, the Board has the option not to hear the appeal, which would allow the complaint to be appealed immediately to the California Department of Education. Staff recommends that the Board not hear the appeal.
