ALAMEDA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
BOARD AGENDA ITEM

Item Title:Measure I Bond Program Plan B Phase 1 Schedule (15 Mins/Action)
Item Type:Direction/Action
Background:

The next step in the Measure I Bond Program is the presentation of a draft schedule of projects in sequence.  The proposed draft schedule reflects Phase I of the Implementation Plan B approved in June 2014.  Recall Phase I of Plan B is focused on the elementary, middle and charter schools.  All sites have safety/security and technology/communication projects addressed, while there are some specific projects at specific sites to address the high priority needs identified during the Facilities Master Plan process at the sites last spring.

The purpose of the item at tonight’s Board meeting is to present the draft schedule and receive board members' input into the final plan.  The input received tonight will be reflected in the final schedule that will return at the January 27th board meeting for approval.

Staff is also recommending the immediate approval of the Summer 2015 Critical Projects: roofing and paving at the specified sites.  To obtain the most promising and successful construction bid and to allow adequate time for planning and completion, staff is asking the Board to take action tonight to approve the roofing and paving projects for Summer 2015 utilizing bond proceeds from Measure I Bond Program Series A funds.
