| Item Title: | Approval of Extension of Joint Use Agreement Between Alameda Unified School District and City of Alameda for Use of Pool Facilities |

| Background: | The Alameda Unified School District (AUSD) and the City of Alameda currently have a Joint Use Agreement (JUA) regarding the operation and joint use of the Encinal High School and Emma Hood swim centers. The current JUA expires February 28, 2015.
Both AUSD and City of Alameda staff have agreed to extend the current terms and conditions of the JUA until December 31, 2016. By that time, the approved major renovation of the Encinal High swim center will be completed, and the parties will evaluate whether the current system of operating and funding the pools continues to make sense for both sides.
This extension agreement has already been approved by the City Council on February 17, 2015. If approved by the Board it would take effect March 1st.
