Background:On March 8, 2011, Alameda voters passed a new replacement parcel tax (“Measure A”). One of AUSD’s commitments is to maintain accountability and transparency with all expenditures of Measure A dollars. A key component of that commitment is creating and making publicly available an annual report on Measure A revenues and expenditures.

Staff presented the 2013-2014 Measure A Annual Staff report to the Board of Education on January 13, 2015. Since then, staff have discovered two minor errors in the description of how funds were spent in the Accountability & Oversight category of Measure A: the name of one staff position partially funded by Measure A and the portion of two other staff positions also partially funded by the parcel tax.

The specific changes are to one sentence on page 10. The sentence originally read:

The funds paid for 50% of the cost of staffing one position (Senior Program Manager) and a contract for external parcel tax administration with SCI Consulting Group.

Staff would like to amend the underlined sentence to read:

The funds paid for 50% of the cost of staffing one position (Senior Manager, Community Affairs), plus .25 of the cost of staffing two positions in Fiscal Services (Controller and Accounting Supervisor), and a contract for external parcel tax administration with SCI Consulting Group.
