| | | | | | | | | Item Title: | Approval of Encinal High School and Alameda High School's 2014-2015 Scholarship Awards | | Item Type: | Consent | | Background: | Encinal High School and Alameda High School will be presenting outstanding graduating seniors various scholarships during their Awards Ceremonies. Encinal High School's Award Ceremony will be held on May 28, 2015, and Alameda High School's Award Ceremony will be held on May 27, 2015.
Education Code 44015 states that individual awards in excess of $200.00 must be expressly approved by the Board of Education.
This year the awards being presented will total $19,000.00 as follows:
- Ken Brown Scholarship - $500.00 - Awarded to Riley Anderson-Barrett (EHS)
- Lou Allen Scholarship - $500.00 - Awarded to Andrew Leung (EHS)
- Susan Scott Scholarship - $1,000.00 - Awarded to Yirong Wu (EHS)
- Beatrice B. Barrett Scholarship - $1,000.00 - Awarded to Alison Matthews (EHS)
- Kofman Alameda Time Star Journalism Scholarship - $500.00 - Awarded to Jacqueline Lim (EHS) and Janet Chen (AHS)
- Chipman/Matsick Scholarship - $500.00 - Awarded to Minh Le (EHS)
- Paul Hardy Parker Scholarship - $5,000.00 - Awarded to Wadhi Sultan (EHS) and Diljit Bains (AHS)
- Marlene and Steve Kofman Scholarship - $3,000.00 - Awarded to Jon'Nae Davis (AHS)
- Florida Bartallini Scholarship - $1,000.00 - Awarded to Daniel Moyal (AHS)
- Cox/Hollywood Scholarship - $500.00 - Awarded to Isabelle Sullivan (AHS)
