Background:

Historic Alameda High School Foundation (HAHSF) is a City of Alameda based organization that has focused on the preservation of the Kofman Auditorium.  HAHSF solicited funds specifically for the refurbishing and maintenance of the Kofman Auditorium. 

         Over the course of its existence, HAHSF has provided substantial funds to the Alameda Unified School District for renovations and improvements to the Kofman Auditorium.  HAHSF’s bylaws provide that, after dissolution, all funds remaining in the account of the HAHSF shall be turned over to the Alameda Unified School District to be used for the preservation of the Kofman Auditorium.

           Tonight Mr. Gerhard W. Degemann, President of HAHSF, will be presenting a check in the amount of $49,835.61 to Alameda Unified School District.  These funds must be used to preserve and maintain the Kofman Auditorium.
