Item Title: | Resolution No. 2015.2016.63 in Support of The Children's Education and Health Care Protection Act of 2016 | Item Type: | Consent | Background: | Proposition 30, a ballot initiative approved by the voters in 2012, instituted temporary sales and top-bracket income taxes in order to help fund public education. Proposition 30 is set to expire. Currently, community and civic groups are seeking to put a replacement measure, the Children’s Education and Health Care Protection Act of 2016 (the “Act”), on the November 2016 ballot. The measure would extend the top-bracket income tax only in order to support public education and children’s health services. If approved, this resolution would show the Board’s support for the Act. | Goals: | Board member referral | Fund: | N/A | Fund Codes: | | Fiscal Analysis
