Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent cancellation of student events such as prom and graduation, Alameda High School (AHS) seniors have unspent funds in their associated student body account and anticipate additional vendor refunds (transportation, venues, etc). Once all refunds have been collected the total estimated account balance is around $19,000.00. The Class of 2020 would like to retain these funds to use as a group in the future. Leadership has developed an agreement with the Alameda High School Boosters (a separate entity) to retain the funds for the group to use at a later date.

 

On April 28, 2020, the Booster's Executive Committee met to approve the acceptance of this transfer, and on June 1, 2020, the student congress met and passed a motion to transfer all Class of 2020 funds to the Boosters. Minutes from both meetings are attached to this item.
