Item Title:Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Open Enrollment Report (15 Mins/Information)

Background:

The online enrollment process for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten begins January 25, 2021. Every year, Information Nights and Tours are held for all families interested in enrolling into AUSD's Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten (K) programs. 

 

This year, due to the pandemic, Kindergarten Information Nights will be held remotely via zoom on January 14, 2021 at 6:30 pm. Links will be provided on each school's website at https://alamedausd-ca.schoolloop.com/Schools. One Information Night for all of AUSD's Transitional Kindergarten programs will be held on January 13, 2021 at 6:30 pm via zoom with the link being provided by January 11, 2021 at https://www.alamedaunified.org/enrollment.

 

Information on TK and K Tours will be posted on the district's enrollment webpage as well on each individual school's website.

 

AUSD's "Open Enrollment" schools are:

 

  • Maya Lin School
  • Bay Farm School (Gr. 6-8)
  • Wood Middle School
  • Encinal Jr. & Sr. High School
  • ASTI (Gr. 9)

 

Spaces at these programs are allotted through a lottery system.

 

Applications for Bay Farm School (Gr. 6-8), Wood Middle School, Encinal Jr. & Sr. High School, and ASTI (incoming 9th graders), must be submitted between November 11, 2020 through January 22, 2021. The lottery timeline is the week of January 25-29, 2021 with the families being notified during the week of February 8 for Encinal, the week of February 15 for Bay Farm School and Wood Middle School, and the week of (TBD) for ASTI.

 

Applications for Maya Lin School (K-5) must be submitted between January 25, 2021 through March 19, 2021. The lottery will be held on March 29, 20221 with the families being notified during the week of April 5, 2021.
