America is a nation whose institutions and principles safeguard equality for all, regardless of one’s gender, orientation, political views, race, or religion. Alameda as a community has committed itself to honoring and valuing the diversity of all its residents through widespread adoption of the “Everyone Belongs Here” campaign.
The Alameda Unified School District is actively committed to helping prevent and oppose any incidents of hate and intolerance in our schools and in our greater community. On October 9, 2018 the Alameda Board of Education approved a resolution so that Alameda Unified School District could continue to stand in solidarity with other Bay Area communities in United Against Hate Week efforts as a way to heal divisions that have been sown in recent years.
Tonight, Alameda Unified School District recognizes and proclaims November 30-December 6, 2020 as Bay Area United Against Hate Week.
