Recently staff have been receiving concerns from parents and students regarding the amount of Asynchronous learning time and the amount of time devoted to Homework during Distance Learning.
Asynchronous learning occurs without direct, simultaneous interaction of participants, such as, videos featuring direct instruction of new content that students watch on their own time.
Homework is defined as school-related and assigned work completed beyond the regular school day. Homework may be assigned when necessary to support classroom lessons, enable students to complete unfinished assignments, or review and apply academic content for better understanding.
Tonight staff will discuss recommendations for the remainder of the first Semester and recommendations for next steps in the second Semester to mitigate the amount of time students are spending on Asynchronous learning and Homework during Distance Learning.
