Background:

On September 25, 2009, then Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger joined by Assemblyman Paul Cook and Jose G. Ramos, founder of the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day, signed into law Assembly Bill 717 the “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” Bill at the Twentynine Palms Marine Base.

 

Jose G. Ramos had started his campaign in 2000 in a grass roots effort to raise awareness around our Vietnam Veterans' arrival home. It is with respect and honor for our Vietnam Veterans that we ask the Board to proclaim March 30th as Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day.
