Item Title:Discussion of Planning for Fall and Remote School Options for the 2021-2022 School Year (15 Mins/Information)
Item Type:Information
Background:

Staff will share preliminary goals and options for school schedules and general programming for fall. Public health conditions have made steady improvement in our county since January, and with the expansion of vaccines now supporting that ongoing improvement AUSD is guardedly optimistic that more comprehensive in-person programming may be possible for the beginning of school year 2021-2022.

Public health directives have not yet formally been revised, and even after they are there may be distinctions between what is possible at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

In light of this staff will present multiple preliminary schedule scenarios for both elementary and secondary schools this August, and again notes that our prevailing goal will be to return to as full and comprehensive a 5-day schedule as possible for AUSD students.

AUSD LCAP Goals:1. Eliminate barriers to student success and maximize learning time.| 2a. Support all students in becoming college and career ready.| 2b.
