Item Title:Approval of Memorandum of Understanding between Alameda Unified School District and Contra Costa County Office of Education Teacher Induction Program
Item Type:Consent
Background:

In California, teachers need to complete a Teacher Induction Program in order to obtain a clear teaching credential. Teacher Induction Programs are administered by California’s Department of Education (CDE) and the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). Some school districts are authorized by the State to offer teacher induction programs, some offer induction programs through a State authorized consortium with other districts, and some offer no program at all. In order to support beginning teachers in the Alameda Unified School District (AUSD), we are proposing to continue a partnership with the Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) for teacher induction support.

This is a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the CCCOE Teacher Induction Program and Alameda Unified School District in partnership to carry out the Teacher Induction Program and guidelines of SB 2042. The purpose of this MOU is to establish a formal working relationship between the CCCOE and the Alameda Unified School District and to set forth the operative conditions that will govern this partnership.
