Item Title: | Resolution No. 2021-2022.07 Selecting Proposal to Purchase Former Maintenance Yard Property and Approving Purchase and Sale Agreement (5 Mins/Action) | Item Type: | Action | Background: | The District owns surplus property, which it desires to sell, located at 2615 Eagle Avenue, Alameda, CA 94501, APN 070-0161-055-02 (the “Property”). The District received authorization from the State Board of Education to issue a request for proposals (“RFP”) for the sale of the Property. The District issued and advertised an RFP, and received one proposal from the Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (“HACA”) to purchase the property for $2.5 million.
At its June 22, 2021 meeting, the District disclosed the proposal from HACA and allowed for public comment. Legal counsel for the District and HACA have negotiated the terms of a purchase and sale agreement. Adopting this resolution would formally select the proposal submitted by HACA, approve the Purchase and Sale Agreement, and authorize staff to execute such documents as necessary to complete the transaction.
