| Background: | With the recent resignation of Board President Mia Bonta, there is currently a vacant seat on the Board. The Education Code gives the Board two options for filling the vacant seat: calling a special election, or appointing an applicant. The Board must act to fill the seat within 60 days.
This presentation sets out the mechanics of each option so that the Board can make its choice.
