The COVID-19 pandemic has interrupted instruction secondary students receive in relation to safer sex and healthy relationships.
The Alameda Unfied School District (AUSD) is dedicated to bringing equitable access to instruction that engages students through workshops, outreach, and collaboration with stakeholder groups.
The Alameda Family Services (AFS) School Based Health Center and AUSD have partnered to present students with reliable and erudite literature, instruction, and workshops, that help students access free and confidential resources at the School Based Health Center surrounding safer sex, mental wellness, and counseling services.
AUSD staff are committed to constructing a comprehensive plan to incorporate education on sexual consent for grades 11 and 12, preparing presentations on sexual consent with collaboration and support from students and Alameda Family Services staff, and providing visible notification of the prohibition of sexual harassment as a form of sexual discrimination and providing notification of available resources and remedies for those in need.
