Those steps include:
- Initiating a review of the existing name
- Meeting with the school community
- Recommending a renaming process
- Convening a Renaming Committee
- Holding broader community meetings to solicit new names
- Conducting a community survey on proposed new names
- Recommending a new name to the Board of Education
- Holding a 60-day public comment period
- Board vote
Tonight staff seeks direction from the Board to initiate a review of the existing name. This presentation reviews the steps involved in renaming a school facility and proposes a timeline for getting this work done by the end of 2022. |
