Item Title:Resolution No. 2022-2023.19 Granting of Easement to Alameda Municipal Power (5 Mins/Action/Public Hearing)

Background:

Alameda Municipal Power, ("AMP")  is seeking a perpetual permanent nonexclusive easement at Wood Middle School located at 420 Grand Street, Alameda, CA 94501 (Accessors Parcel Number 74-1250-1-2).  Measure I Bond Modernization work was recently completed at Wood Middle School, which included extensive updates to the HVAC and electrical systems. Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) has indicated that in order to provide necessary power to the school, the District must convey right of way easements at the site for any necessary servicing of the power lines.



Education Code requires a two-step process for granting easements. Step one was completed with the approval of Resolution 2022-2023.17 Declaration of Intent to Grant an Easement to Alameda Municipal Power at the Board's October 25 meeting.  The community was advised of the Board's intent to grant this easement tonight through notice in the Alameda Journal on November 4, 2022.

Tonight, staff is asking the Board to complete the second step by approving Resolution No. 2022-2023.19 which would formally grant this nonexclusive, permanent easement and right of way to Alameda Municipal Power.
