Background:

This presentation is intended to update the Board on Grading for Equity. The Board will hear from Secondary Director, Vernon Walton and TSA, Jan Carroll about the work they have accomplished with the Grading for Equity workgroup during the 2022-2023 school year.

 

The Grading for Equity workgroup was formed during the 2021-2022 school year. The group read Joe Feldman's Grading for Equity and piloted equitable grading practices presented in his book. The group reconvened during the spring of 2022, and has developed a long term plan to shift AUSD to equitable grading practices.

 

This presentation will cover accomplishments, successes, dilemmas, and next steps of the Grading for Equity project.

Support all English Learners (ELs) in becoming college and career ready.| 3. Support parent/guardian development as knowledgeable partners and effective advocates for student success.| 4.
