| Background: | Tonight, the Board will receive an update from the District AI Advisory Committee, formed in January 2026 to guide the responsible, equitable, and instructionally-aligned use of artificial intelligence across the district. This presentation will cover the committee's purpose and charge, its guiding beliefs, and membership composition; findings from baseline teacher and student surveys on AI use and readiness; progress on the AUSD + Krause Center for Innovation (KCI) partnership, including professional learning completed by 30 teachers and the launch of a four-educator AI Capstone cohort; and the committee's phased two-year plan for policy development, tool vetting, and districtwide rollout. |
