Item Title:Approval of Contract for Interim Chief of Human Resource Services

Background:

This item sets out the terms and conditions of employment for the District’s Interim Chief Human Resources Officer, Mike Bowers. Mr. Bowers will serve as Interim Chief Human Resources Officer until the District fills the position on a permanent basis later this year

Mr. Bowers spent nine years as the Associate Superintendent of Human Resources with the Contra Costa County Office of Education before retiring in July 2011. He has also served as a high school special education teacher, school counselor, high school assistant principal, middle school principal and high school principal.  Since his retirement, Mr. Bowers has worked as a human resources consultant for the Benicia, Martinez, Walnut Creek and San Lorenzo school districts.
