Background:The District received a complaint claiming that it had discriminated against a student by disciplining the student more harshly than other students for similar misbehavior. Following an investigation, staff concluded that the disciplinary consequences for the student in question were comparable to the consequences for other students. The complainant seeks to have the Board hear her appeal of the investigation’s conclusions. Staff recommends that the Board not hear the appeal; approval of this item as part of the consent agenda would result in the Board declining to hear the appeal.
