| Background: | AUSD's guiding principles and Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals both include a focus on parent/guardian engagement and recognize the role of family and community in student success. In 2014-2015 AUSD has continued to expand efforts to engage parents/guardians as knowledgeable partners and effective advocates for student success.
These efforts include the growth of School Smarts Parent Engagement Program in collaboration with California PTA and expanded parent/guardian engagement throughout the LCAP evaluation and development process. This item provides a brief overview of the major activities and accomplishments for the 2014-15 school year in the area of Family Involvement and Community Engagement (FICE) and the expanded goals for 2015-16. |
