AEF manages programs that support AUSD K - 12 students with educational opportunities. Tonight AEF will be presenting a brief slide show and giving general information about their programs including highlights from the previous year and goals for the 2016-2017 school year.
Alameda Education Foundation
Mission: To engage the community, raise funds, and coordinate programs to support and enhance the quality of K-12 public education in Alameda.

2015-2016 Highlights:
- Adopted 156 classrooms - $78,000 directly to teachers
- Introduced 3,300 elementary students to the orchestra through sponsorship of the Oakland East Bay Symphony’s Young People’s Concert
- Sponsored district-wide Robotics program based at Wood Middle School
- 2200 after-school Enrichment classes and 600 summer Enrichment camp registrations
- Introduced ACT test prep programs that were offered during spring break and summer serving 57 students
- Introduced personal statement workshops serving 24 students
- Utilized over 50 middle-high school interns to support the Enrichment summer camp program
- Held a “Paying for College” seminar as part of AUSD’s Parent University attended by over 100 students and parents
- Provided after school, year-round Middle School Sports programs to 600 6th – 8th grade student athletes
- Supported approximately 800 low-income students with new backpacks and age-appropriate school supplies through the Equipped 4 Success school supply drive
- Honored volunteers and staff from every Alameda public school at Salute to Education in April 2016
2016-2017 Goals:
- Adopt 200 classrooms with the majority going to teachers most in need.
- Increase the number of students participating in the AUSD Robotics program via funding from Power Up 4 Learning.
- Manage a district wide visual and literary arts exhibition that will last two years, called “Art Across the Island”.
- Expand the reach of increase the offerings of our college prep programs, particularly for students historically underrepresented in college.
- Work closely with AUSD elementary music teachers to support their work through our VAPA efforts.
- Support AUSD’s vocational career pathways work.
- Continue to grow our partnerships within the community.
