Recently the Board of Education for the Burbank Unified School District approved a letter submitted by its Superintendent asking local representatives to meet with them to discuss the negative impact that the proposed state budget would have on their district.
Superintendent Sean McPhetridge is now asking the Board of Education to discuss and take action on this attached similar letter as a response to requests by families and staff in recent weeks that we work with state legislators to advocate for adequate funding for public education in Alameda and indeed California writ large.
Just as we used the work done by Sacramento Unified School District to guide our AUSD Safe Haven Resolution in January, we have used Burbank Unified School District as an inspiration and template for this proposed action also.
