Background:

The Alameda Board of Education is committed to Alameda Unified School District’s vision of serving a diverse community of students in an inclusive, safe, and secure environment.

 

The Board of Education is also committed to the success of all students regardless of their ability, ethnicity, gender, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status.

 

We believe hate speech based on any form of bias or bigotry is wrong and intolerable, and we believe harassment and intimidation have no place in our schools or in Alameda.

 

Tonight staff present a statement of beliefs and commitments to these ends and aimed at protecting and safeguarding our students, families, and staff.
