Background:

This item provides an overview of key work and major goals of the Educational Services Department for the 2018-19 school year.  A brief review of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) model includes the rationale for MTSS implementation, outlining of AUSD’s key implementation components, the strands of professional development supporting implementation, and other strands of work aligned to AUSD’s overall MTSS work.  This presentation represents the unified work of Special Education, Teaching and Learning, and Student Support Services.

AUSD LCAP Goals:1. Eliminate barriers to student success and maximize learning time.| 2a. Support all students in becoming college and career ready.| 2b. Support all English Learners (ELs) in becoming college and career ready.| 3. Support parent/guardian development as knowledgeable partners and effective advocates for student success.| 4. Ensure that all students have access to basic services.
