The Board of Education has directed staff to compile a committee of parents/guardians, staff, and students to review data on the viability and effects of combining Alameda High School and Encinal High School into one comprehensive high school.
At its meeting on June 26, 2018, the Board appointed 15 community members to the Committee to Consider High School Consolidation. At the same meeting, the Board directed staff to solicit applications from high school students, so that four more students can be appointed to the committee.
In tonight’s presentation, the Superintendent will discuss how the applications were solicited and recommend four students to be approved by the Board. A CSEA 860 representative is also now recommended per Board direction at its August 14, 2018 meeting.
Note: Backup material will be provided at the meeting due to the student application deadline of 5:00pm on Friday, August 24.
