Last spring, the Board of Education directed staff to convene a committee of parents/guardians, staff, and students to review data on the viability and effects of possibly combining Alameda High School and Encinal High School into one comprehensive high school.
The Board appointed 20 community members to the Committee to Consider High School Consolidation. The first meeting of the Committee was held on September 4, 2018. During the Committee meeting, a discussion was held regarding the scope of the Committee. Staff and members of the Committee are now seeking clarification from the Board on the scope and focus of the Committee's work.
The next meeting of the Committee to Consider High School Consolidation will be held on September 17th.
