Background: | This item provides background on the California Department of Education’s (CDE) Low Performing Student Block Grant (LPSBG) funding and the district’s planned use of funds for which it is eligible. California Assembly Bill (AB) 1808 (Approved June 2018) allocated $300 million in funding as part of the LPSBG for the benefit of identified students. These funds are designed to address the persistent achievement gap in public schools and to provide resources and evidence-based practices to initiate and sustain authentic systemic change.
