Item Title:Approval of Change of School Information for Donald D. Lum Elementary School
Item Type:Consent
Background:On May 23, 2017, the Board of Education approved the indefinite relocation of students and staff from Donald D. Lum Elementary School due to seismic risk (Resolution No. 2016-2017.76). While the majority of the students were relocated to several other AUSD elementary schools, several classrooms of 4th and 5th grade students were maintained under the Donald D. Lum Elementary school name at the adjacent Wood Middle School campus.  With these students completing their elementary school program effective June 2019, there will no longer be any students in attendance under the Donald D. Lum Elementary School name.  Given the Board’s resolution to indefinitely relocate students and staff from the physical Donald D. Lum Elementary School campus, approval of this item would formally change the status of the school from ‘Active’ to ‘Closed’ effective July 1, 2019.
