Background:

This item presents the proposed policy revision for AUSD’s Student Dress Code Policy (BP/AR 5132).  Following the implementation of the pilot policy in 2018-19, a workgroup met throughout the year to review input and recommend changes.  The proposed policy incorporates changes to several components reflecting the input received from various stakeholder groups.  If approved, the revised policy would take effect July 1, 2019 and be implemented for the 2019-20 school year.

Support all English Learners (ELs) in becoming college and career ready.| 3. Support parent/guardian development as knowledgeable partners and effective advocates for student success.
