Every year, district staff hold general Information Nights and Tours for all families interested in enrolling into AUSD's Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten (K) programs. Information Nights for Kindergarten are held at each of AUSD's elementary schools. This year Kindergarten Information Night is scheduled for January 16, 2020. There is one Information Night for all of AUSD's Transitional Kindergarten programs which is being held at Paden Elementary on January 15, 2020. The online enrollment process for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten begins January 27, 2020.

AUSD's "Open Enrollment" schools are: Maya Lin School, Bay Farm School (Gr. 6-8), Wood Middle School, Encinal Jr. & Sr. High School, and ASTI (Gr. 9). Spaces at these programs are allotted through a lottery system. Applications for ASTI (incoming 9th graders), Bay Farm (Gr. 6-8), Wood Middle School and Encinal Jr. & Sr. High School must be submitted between November 18, 2019 through January 17, 2020. The lottery timeline is the week of January 27, 2020 with the families being notified during the week of February 10, 2020. Applications for Maya Lin School (K-5) must be submitted between January 27, 2020 through March 20, 2020. The lottery timeline is the week of March 30, 2020 with the families being notified during the week of April 13, 2020.
