Item Title:AUSD Special Education: Progress on Comprehensive Review Recommendations (15 Mins/Information)

Background:
 

After the California Department of Education's (CDE) review of AUSD's Annual Performance Measures, California School Dashboard, and General Compliance, the CDE found that AUSD, like many other Districts, needed to improve their compliance and procedures. The Comprehensive Review Corrective Action from the CDE required that staff present a progress update to the Board of Education by November 13, 2019.

 

On November 12, 2019, the Special Education Department presented goal areas and progress in relation to the Special Education Strategic Plan and how they interfaced with the Comprehensive Review. Staff reported on work completed on four of the five Program Priorities which were:

  • Service Delivery Model
  • Systems of Support
  • Leadership and Communication
  • Monitoring and Compliance

 

Tonight, staff will present an update on that report.
