The District owns property located at 2615 Eagle Avenue, Alameda, CA 94501 known until recently as the "maintenance yard."  The facility on this parcel has outlived its useful life, and the District is in the process of relocating its Maintenance and Operations Department to the acquired property at 240 & 250 Singleton Avenue. Upon completion of the move, the District will not require the use of the parcel located 2615 Eagle Avenue.

 

The District also owns two parcels of property at 700 West Essex Drive on Alameda Point. These parcels contain the former Bachelor Officer Quarters and an adjacent lot that were acquired through a land swap with the City of Alameda in 2014. The District does not operate any services at the Bachelor Officer Quarters.
 
Tonight staff is recommending the Board approve Resolution No. 2019-2020.49 which will authorize the following steps:
  1. Initiating an analysis for these properties by the surplus property advisory committee pursuant to Education Code section 17388, et seq.
  2. Providing a recommendation on whether the Board should declare said properties exempt surplus.
  3. Develop a strategy and implement a course of action to market and effectuate the disposition of these properties.
